The St. Louis Housing Authority (SLHA) is proud to introduce the Emergency Winter Housing Pilot Program, a critical initiative designed to provide housing for unhoused families in St. Louis City. This program specifically supports households with members experiencing disabilities or chronic medical conditions, ensuring they have access to safe and stable housing.
SLHA is collaborating with the St. Louis City Department of Human Services (DHS) and its designated service providers (DSP) to effectively allocate housing assistance to non-elderly persons (ages 18-61) with disabilities who meet the following criteria:
- Transitioning out of institutional segregated settings
- Moving on from homeless supported housing
- At serious risk of institutionalization or of becoming homeless
- Experiencing homelessness
To qualify, households must include at least one member meeting the target population criteria, be referred by DHS, and meet all general Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program eligibility requirements. If you know of an eligible household, please contact Amy Bickfordat the City of St. Louis – Department of Human Services, Homeless Services Division, at bickforda@stlouis-mo.gov or 314.657.1718.
